BIOGRAPHY

Christopher Placitella, shareholder with Cohen Placitella Roth, is an accomplished trial attorney. He dedicates his practice to representing individuals and their families, who have been injured by defective products, drugs and medical devices, toxic substances and environmental contamination.

“If you're a lawyer, you stand between the abuse of corporate, governmental or judicial power and the individual.”

Placitella has developed a national reputation for his commitment to those who have been harmed due to the wrongful conduct of others. His professional integrity and personal commitment to his clients and his community have earned him recognition for his work and service locally, regionally, and across the country. He is continuously recognized by his peers for his contributions to mass tort litigation.

“If you're a lawyer, you're helping to mold the rights of individuals for generations to come.”

As a member of the plaintiffs bar, Placitella is known for helping establish a national asbestos litigation group to successfully and effectively represent individuals suffering from asbestos-related diseases.

He is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics including class action, personal injury, products liability, legal ethics and insurance litigation. He is known as a legal authority on mass tort, class action, and asbestos-related disease cases nationwide, author of a bi-weekly newsletter, ‘The Mass Tort Update’, and the Editor in Chief of the widely respected and referred to nationally "New Jersey Mass Torts and Class Action Treatise" that features more than two dozen attorneys at the top of their practice areas. He has published numerous articles on trial practice, mass tort class action, mesothelioma and asbestos litigation and been interviewed by print and broadcast media.

Placitella volunteers his time to numerous consumer advocacy groups to fight for the rights of people who suffered because of corporate misconduct, including serving as Counsel for Consumers for Civil Justice. Mr. Placitella is also a founder of the Veterans Transition Initiative, and a Trustee of the Holidays for the Homeless and Underprivileged, Inc. organization.
