Joseph McGettigan focuses his practice on cases involving crime victims in organizational or institutional settings, including youth organizations and religious groups/facilities. This also includes abuse and bullying of children, the disabled, and the elderly.
McGettigan’s previous experience entails: prosecutor for the First Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County and Philadelphia, a Chief Deputy in the Attorney General’s Office and an Assistant United States Attorney. He has prosecuted a wide variety of cases, mainly murder and child abuse, including his successful prosecution of the high publicity cases including the child sex abuse trial of Jerry Sandusky and John duPont murder trial.
Before joining McAndrew's Law, McGettigan worked in a U.S. Department of Justice/State Department program to help reestablish the criminal justice system in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. He was a consultant/manager for a private security company based in Washington DC and as an attorney-consultant for major network television production focusing on criminal law.
